Wow! So glad to see the lyrics. First learnt it from a classmate of mine in Ekm, Kerala in the 3rd grade. Over time I had forgotten the last two lines, where the grandma bumps her head and blames it on me. Lovely! I am trying top teach my son the song and now I can happily go teach him the entire thing. :)

My oldest cousin taught me this song when i was 8years old to sing for a competition. I told my mum i would take part only if she got me a new pair of socks :-) I actually won the 1st price for it, i still remember i got a book called the magic ring of roses and of course mum got me the pair of socks :D

can't believe I found this on the internet, I remember being taught this at St Marys School Welwyn ENGLAND in 1963 ish. I have two grandsons one 8 year old and the other 2 year old they both love this and sing it.
